Calaway Park
Springbank, Alberta is home to the amusement park Calaway Park, a campground, and a golf course. The entire property is 160 acres in size, with 90 acres of amusement park. It is one of the largest parks in western Canada. The golf course is located just 4 km away, and the campground is available for camping. The park is 10 km west of Calgary. It is located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and offers great views. The park features unlimited rides, live shows, and a CP Spray n’ Play. In 2003, the Calgary Regional Planning Commission referred the issue to the APB for further review. Both sides agreed to a recommendation that the park be sold as surplus land, not as a park. In 2005, the company took the old, gas-powered bumper boats out of service and replaced them with environmentally friendly electric-powered bumper boats. In addition, the mountain scrambler and the sky-rider were renamed to Adrenaline Test Zone and Wave Rider, respectively.
